Baungi Windmills in Ilocos Norte

The NorthWind Bangui Bay Project, or simply the Bangui WIndmills, supply 40 percent of the power requirements of Ilocos Norte. Inaugurates in 2005, the 15 windmills towering 50 meters high was made to address the poor supply of electricity in the province.

These giant electric fans face the South China sea from where the wind blows. It is located in Bangui, Ilocos Norte which is about one hour and a half from Laoag City.
Seeing the Bangui Windmills for the first time was an amazing experience. It is one of the reasons I fell in love with  Region I. Put it on the top of your "sites to visit" list when you travel to Ilocos.
